I warmly congratulate Black Catalysts PAC on its formation and its work to build political power for Black women across Connecticut. I’m especially pleased to recognize Adrienne Billings Smith, Gemeem Davis, and Nuchette Black Burke, three members of CT Black Women whose leadership is helping to bring this new work to life. The tree in our logo takes the form of a Black woman, from her roots to her branches, reaching up and reaching out. I see the work of Black Catalysts PAC as one of those branches, growing from relationships nurtured around our table and reaching outward to build political power for Black women. It is a living expression of our mission. I celebrate your work bringing together Black women who hold office, aspire to political leadership, or organize in their communities to support and shape the political process. I am honored by the part CT Black Women has played in your journey. I see you. I am proud of you, and you have my support as you move forward. SB 1 An Act Equalizing Comprehensive Access to Mental, Behavioral and Physical Health Care in Response to the Pandemic.

To testify on:

  1. Race, ethnicity, & language data collection.
  2. Defining the doula profession.
  3. Declaring Racism a Public Health Crisis.
